PED staining stands for Pulse Electro Deposition, an industrial process that uses electricity to coat metal with chrome or lacquer. Characteristic of this coating process is the high degree of scratch resistance.
PVD staining stands for Physical Vapour Deposition, a durable, permanent and hard-wearing staining technique. First, a thin, strong top coat is applied to the product. A liquid metal is then vaporized and placed in a vacuum. This vapor settles on the product and creates a beautiful hard coating. This process is then repeated several times. The thicker this layer, the more resistant to damage.
